We wanted to remind you about our TMC EV Rates, which are available to use to reimburse your electric vehicle drivers per mile.
Using the Q1 data, our team were able to conclude that even based on solely home charging on a standard tariff, over 80% of cars have a pence per mile rate over the government AER, whilst only one van came out under.
There are 204 cars that come out at 7p or under, but there are 922 derivatives that fall over the AER.
When introducing just a quarter of public highway charging at a higher cost per kWh, no vehicle is covered by the HMRC rate.
The AER may seem convenient, but it’s by no means a one size fits all approach and many drivers will be left out of pocket. How much would depend on various factors such as the vehicle, the tariff, the frequency of public charging, driving style, mileage completed and so on.
These rates are a unique cost per mile for each vehicle in the UK, as we consider the miles per kWh at vehicle level rather than using an average.
The team at TMC are always on hand to discuss options for your EV fleet, or even just your general EV strategy.
